GSSHA and American Competitive Trail Horse Assocation

GSSHA will be hosting a trail ride for American Competitive Trail Horse Association. ACTHA is a nationaly recoginized assocation that has trail rides in many states for fun with a little friendly competition with obsticals.

The ride will be held at Dawson Forest Wildlife Management Area in Dawson County on June 12, 2010. There will be 8 to 10 obstacles in a 7 to 8 mile ride. Most of the obstacles will be natural, with a few man made ones thrown in. The ride will be about 3 to 3 1/2 hours long with lunch and awards after the ride. To ride in the ride you will have to be a member of ACTHA. If you are not a members you can go to their web site www.actha.us to join and view the details of the ride. There will be prizes for the 3 divisions and the open division can ride for a jackpot if you wish.


This ride will be a fund-raiser for our Sport Horse Fall Show and part of the proceeds will be donated to Angels on Horseback.

Angels on Horseback is a therapeutic riding center for individuals with emotional, mental or physical disabilities. AOH is located in Jasper, Georgia and is a 501.c.3 run by volunteers with love. You can visit their web site at www.angelsonhorseback.org
